After 48 hours of labor, Zach Cieslinski gives an inspired presentation of DieselPunk!
EUGENE ROCKS THE HOUSE
Over 30 developers from all walks of life -- professionals, amateurs, and students -- came together to jam it out for 48 hours at the downtown campus of Lane Community College.
The theme? Create a commercially viable mobile concept.
The result? Five awesome prototypes!
BEHIND THE SCENES
The jam was organized by Ted Brown, and took place four weeks after Disney laid off 26% of their game developers around the world.
It was a maddening rush to pull it all together, and yet the weekend went off without a hitch.
This was primarily thanks to amazing support from the staff and security at LCC, as well as the passionate local developers who have fully dived in to "jam culture."
HIGH STAKES, HIGH PRESSURE
The teams would be judged by a panel of five industry veterans, and prizes from RockYou, Squishy Pixels, The Engine Co., and FertiLab Thinkubator meant something tangible was on the line.
Eight concepts were pitched on Friday afternoon, and six teams were ultimately formed.
Though one team fell away by Saturday morning, the remainder pushed forward to complete their projects and present to the judges and their peers (pictured above).
It was an amazing weekend, and there's only one thing to say:

hint: same time next year!
